3 Things You Need to Know about Payday 2 Crimewave Edition

Call your crew and get the band back together. PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition brings the co-op heisting experience to PlayStation 4, and it’s time to get that PAYDAY. Whether you’re a lifelong heister with tons of cash in your offshore account, or you’re green as grass and new to the crew, here’s four things you need to know before getting started on June 16th.

1) Tons of Weapons. And Heists. And Mods. And Masks.

Holy shotgun pack, it does. PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition comes packed with previously released heists like the Diamond, Big Bank, Hotline Miami, Hoxton Breakout and more, and it also includes the newest characters like Dragan, Old Hoxton, and Clover right in the box. And guns? Well, we jammed so many damn weapon packs in PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition, 99 weapons in total. We loaded the game with as many weapons that would fit on the disc. And for those weapon fanatics that still need their trigger finger itched, don’t worry; there’s more coming. PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition is going to receive continued support post-release which means there are more weapons, heists, masks and characters on the way.

2) Preplanning Changes the Course of Gameplay

What’s your getaway plan? Whether it’s by a helicopter escape via the roof or by ramming a bus through a wall, you need a plan. Before you even think about escaping, you’ll need an execution strategy. The Preplanning mode in PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition allows you to set up dead drops for ammo and doctor bags, establish extra surveillance around the building, and even recruit the help of some insiders – for a price. While you plan the heist, the Dentist (played by Giancarlo Esposito, known from the TV-series Breaking Bad’s Gus Fring) will monitor your every move, commenting on your decisions.

“Thorough planning can turn a speculative venture into a guaranteed result.”

3) Hotline Miami’s Jacket is a Playable Character

PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition contains no less than 52 post-launch updates, jammed right into the box. Additional updates are to come post-launch. How about Jacket, the famous sociopath from hit game Hotline Miami, released in update 56? While he’s not available at release, he’ll be added as a part of a future update, free of charge. Regardless of whether you’ve played PAYDAY 2 or Hotline Miami before, Jacket will be coming to consoles as a playable character in a future post-launch update for PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition.
